‘We stayed at the Chakara Villas (Anahata) in Seminyak. The welcome was warm and informative. Initially, we thought that the location was somewhat isolated from the main areas of Seminyak, but once we were given great guidance from a hand-drawn map, we found the location ideal – far enough away for quiet and seclusion but close enough for access to Seminyak proper.
The staff who provided the daily service were friendly yet unobtrusive.
The layout of the villa was ideal for the two couples.

The communication prior to booking was excellent. The villa exceeded our expectations; it was modern but homely, clean and had everything you needed! We were greeted by a member of staff who explained she’d be at our villa from 9-3 pm to do any cleaning or help organise things to do for us. She was amazing and kept the villa sparkling! The pool was cleaned while we were there, too. I couldn’t believe the service for the price. 1350 aus dollars for 10 days! Amazing! I will definitely use this company again.

Steven is part of the marketing team that works for Bali Villa Escapes. Steven is passionate about Bali and loves the people, culture and the surf. Steven is the author of many travel guides on this website and has taken lots of informative videos which you watch on our Bali Villa Escapes YouTube channel so you can get a better idea of where to go, where to shop, what it's like in Bali, what to do and what not to do plus some of the quirky things that often happen on the island. Steven identified a problem with the normal Bali villa booking process; namely that if the villa you wanted was booked out, you had to go back to the drawing board and trawl through hundreds of villas listings to find a similar one. This was a common issue among the larger villa website and Online Travel Agents. People wanted to speak or have contact with a real person with intimate knowledge of Bali and get as much information as they can about their prospective holiday villa options.

'Every time I come to Bali I try to take as many videos as I can so fellow travellers will have a better understanding of the areas they intend to visit such as Seminyak, Canggu, Berawa and Legian'.

Mark is our go-to island guy; after joining the company seven years ago, Bali Villa Escapes found a need for an on-island for Quality Control Advisor with predominantly western clients, with Australians being our primary customers. So naturally, we thought we’d have to meet Australian standards for our Aussie guests. Mark came on board after a long career in international Hospitality, mostly hotel management; as we see our villas as mini-hotels, what better person to have to maintain and train our Indonesian team in the ways of western hospitality culture. His role encompasses a wide range of operations, including overseeing enquiries and the booking process, ensuring the villas are well maintained and the staff suitably trained for their roles. In addition, creating and embed an extensive range of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure we maintain a consistent quality throughout the portfolio of villas we offer. With a love of travelling and exploring, he has travelled and engaged with many different cultures; with a humble approach to the well-respected locals and their customs and ceremonies, he blends in well here in Bali. Among various recreations, he loves a surf, enjoys a healthy fitness program, and explores Bali’s neighbouring islands.
