Villa Anyar Subak is located in a  perfectly quiet area, surrounded by rice fields and yet, it takes just minutes to get to Echo Beach and the buzzing Batu Bolong Street. Even closer to the villa, you’ll find Samadi Bali, a yoga studio and vegetarian restaurant. Every Sunday, they are hosting a lovely farmers market – a great place to mingle with good crowds and families. The nearest beach is less than 3 km away. Stroll down there and you’ll find lots of cafes and restaurants along the way. If you love your coffee you are in luck as there are some great cafes nearby where you can also grab a bite to eat with the family. Make sure you go to Deus ex Machina, Shady Shack, The Avocado Factory, My Warung, Copenhagen and the super-popular Crate Cafe.

For the ladies, there are some dreamy day spas in the Batu Bolong area where you can get your hair and nails done and have a massage. For the best treatments go to AMO, MYNX, Goldust Beauty Lounge, and the stylish Spring day spa. Follow this up with an afternoon shopping at Love Anchor Markets in Batu Bolong or get a taxi to the Oberoi area in Seminyak ( about 20 min away ) where there are fashionable boutiques, art galleries & homewares shops. You can also buy all your Bali souvenirs at the Canggu Art Market which is close to Echo Beach or perhaps go to the Sunday Markets at La Brisa beach club.

Make sure you have sunset cocktails or a few cold Bintangs at The Lawn at the end of Jalan Batu Bolong. This is where everyone goes to watch the best sunset in Southern Bali. Afterwards have dinner at Mason, the new Milk and Madu, Black Sand Brewery or Moana Fish Eatery. Other beach clubs nearby worth visiting include La Brisa, La Laguna, Cafe Del Mar & KU DE TA.

Travelling with kids? Definitely take them to the Finns Recreation Club where there are water slides, ten pin bowling and a massive in-door trampoline centre called Bounce. Also, a great idea is a surf lesson at Old Man’s Beach where you can hire surfboards and instructors by the hour. Afterwards, there’s dinner at Wahaha for the best ribs in Canggu or perhaps burgers at Pitstop or BB52. For dessert, a trip to Gaya Gelato at Echo beach would be a real treat.
