Beach Clubs. Staying in Umalas means you can easily get to some of the best beach clubs in Southern Bali. For a treat, head to Potato Head, The Woo Bar in Petitenget. La Brisa at Echo Beach, Cafe Del Mar in Batu Belig and the mega new beach club Atlas Beach Fest in Berawa.
Cafes & restaurants. Umalas itself has some great dining options for the whole family that are excellent value. Some of the best include Warung Dua, Bucu, La Casetta, Monsieur Spoon, Bonito, 7 AM Bakers Club and the famous Nook.
Travelling with kids? Take them to the Finns Recreation Club, where there are waterslides, ten-pin bowling and an indoor trampoline centre. Or, a surf lesson at Berawa Beach, where you can hire boards. There’s tennis at the Liga Tennis Centre, horse riding at the Equestrian Centre or Waterbom Bali in Kuta (Asia’s premier water theme park). There’s pizza at Da Romeo or burgers at Milk and Madu for dinner.
Gym and yoga. There are great gyms and yoga studios nearby to get a workout and stretch. Make sure you visit Bull Gym, SOMA or Nirvana Strength in Canggu, and The Practice or Samadi Yoga. All have daily/weekly passes to cater to holidaymakers.
