Villa Mamoune is a 6-bedroom Umalas holiday rental and a picture of holiday bliss, tradition, and sophistication all rolled into one. This sprawling estate is inspired by traditional Indonesian architecture and complimented by stunning décor, plush living areas, an expansive tropical garden with a large private pool, outdoor dining gazebo, cinema room, dedicated family suite, children’s play areas, and an in-house spa treatment centre.

Outdoor & Pool Areas

The garden is a myriad of manicured lawns, mature lush tropical gardens, and wandering koi fish ponds, with the trickling waters adding a little Zen tune as you explore the extensive gardens. The private pool is certainly big enough to swim laps, whilst a shallow area is ready for infants and toddlers. Deluxe recliners flank the pool with colourful umbrellas on each side and retreat to the shade of the Bale/Gazebo for lunchtime dining. Tucked in the garden is the traditional Javanese teak-timbered Joglo House, where you can be pampered by professionally trained staff.

Living Areas

The main living pavilion is full of rustic charm, with ceilings displaying artisan skills, while a large timber dining table is encircled by 10 bespoke seats for private banquets with friends and family. Antique ornamental pieces, a warm space with a modern gourmet kitchen, a lounge with a large coffee table, plush sofas, and armchairs make it a great place to sit and relax. The cinema room with air-con is a popular sanctuary fitted with a huge screen and state-of-the-art sound system; the enormous blue lounge will hold a large party of guests at any one time.

The Master suite features a four-poster king-sized bed with mosquito netting, antique timber furnishings, inspiring wall art and a flat-screen TV, ideal to wind down before lights out. The mosaic-tiled en-suite is bright and airy with both an outdoor rain shower and a free-standing soaking tub. The four guest suites are equally plush with private en-suites and a fifth room containing 4 single beds, taking the accommodation up to a capacity of 14 guests.

The villa is looked after by a highly trained and English-speaking manager. He will oversee the services of the other staff including butlers, chefs, maids and 24-hour security staff.

Umalas is a very popular location for many holidaymakers and ex-pats alike; its close proximity to Seminyak, Batu Belig and Canggu makes it ultra-convenient. It’s also very close to probably the best restaurants on the island; Metis, Sardine, Warisan and Watercress all sit just along Jalan Batu Belig on the way to Finns Beach Club and Batu Belig Beach.

Travelling with kids? They will have the time of their life at the Finns Recreation Centre: indoor trampolines, towering water slides, ten-pin bowling especially designed for young children, tennis courts, swimming pools and great food. They’ll also love a surf lesson at Berawa Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. For a fun day out with the family, go to the popular Monkey Forest Temple in Ubud or sunset photos at Tanah Lot Temple on the water.

For the ladies, there are lots of day spas nearby where you can get your hair and nails done and have one of those dreamy Balinese massages. For the best treatments, make your way to Rob Peetoom or Sundari Day Spa in Petitenget Think Pink Nails in Batu Belig or MYNX on Jalan Batu Bolong. Follow this up with an afternoon browsing the art galleries, homewares and jewellery stores in the chic Oberoi area. For more shopping options, head into Legian, where you can bargain with locals for souvenirs, or make your way into the Jalan Batu Blong area in Canggu, which has a variety of shops for girls.

There is also the Finns Beach Club or the newly built Holywings in Berawa & the mega Cafe Del Mar nearby where you can have a few cold Bintangs, cocktails and watch the best sunset in Bali. Other beach clubs worth a visit include KU DE TA, Potato Head and Mano Beach House in Petitenget and La Brisa at Echo Beach.

If you want to stock up on your villa supplies, there are two well-stocked supermarkets nearby that have absolutely everything, including alcohol and wines. Head to Popular Supermarket or the more boutique Canggu Station.

You might like to venture into Umalas itself, which has some chilled-out cafes where you can hang out and enjoy reasonably priced meals. Some of the best cafes in Umalas are Bucu ( French-inspired design with amazing coffee), 7 AM: Bakers Club, the super-popular Butterman, La Casetta,  Dua and Monsieur Spoon or  Cafe Organic for some healthy eating.
