Villa Rusa Biru features a real eye-soothing double-storey house with a soaring glass rooftop, teak wooden structures and large terraces. The overall feel is modern but Balinese charm is infused into all of the details. The living areas are lofty and light-filled and when evening falls on the world’s only Island of the Gods (Bali!), you get to enjoy the view of a starry night sky from inside the living room. How amazing! The living room is equipped with AC to keep the temperature pleasant at all times and the interior design features teak wooden-carved furniture, antiques, comfortable sofas and splashes of bright blue colours infused in the details. Most eye-catching is the open staircase in the middle of the room, leading up to the mezzanine from where you can access the bedrooms and terraces. There is a teak 10-seater dining table and there is a very spacious open kitchen with a bar and stools. Villa Rusa Biru also boasts a TV lounge room for those precious family moments, watching movies with popcorn and drinking in the evening.

All 3 bedrooms at Villa Rusa Biru are located up on the first floor adjoined to large terraces with magnificent views of the surroundings. The master room boasts a romantic canopied four-poster bed draped in white curtains, it’s got a private timber terrace with a daybed and the en-suite bathroom has got a free-standing terrazzo bathtub placed next to a window as well as a separate rain shower. The other 2 bedrooms are furnished with queen-size double beds and one of them has also got bunk beds, making it a perfect family suite. All 3 bedrooms are equipped with AC for your comfort.

The villa manager is there to assist wherever needed, there is dedicated housekeeping staff, garden and pool maintenance staff and there is 24/7 security. Make sure you make your way over to Old Man’s or The Lawn at the end of Jalan Batu Bolong (10 min away) for sunset cocktails, a few cold Bintang’s, great music and the best sunset in Bali. This is where everyone goes and should be on your Bali bucket list. You can have dinner here or take a walk up the street where you’ll find loads of places to take the family for a meal. Some of the most popular are Mason, the popular Deus ex Machina, BB52 ( for the best burgers in Bali), or Shady Shack.

Travelling with kids? Take them to the Finns Recreation Club where there are waterslides, ten pin bowling and a massive indoor trampoline centre. They’ll also like a surf lesson at Berawa Beach where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. Culturally, take them to the popular Monkey Forest Temple in Ubud for a fun day out with the family or sunset photos at the holy Hindu Tanah Lot Temple on the water (7.5 km away ). For dinner, head to the Tamora Gallery which has many family-friendly restaurants including Schmurger Burger & the Chinese restaurant Golden Monkey or Happy Chappy’s.

Ladies, there are lots of upmarket day spas close by the villa where you can get your hair and nails done plus have one of those dreamy Balinese massages. Head to Think Pink Nails, Spring Day Spa or AMO Day Spas. Follow this up with an afternoon browsing the art galleries, homewares & jewellery stores in the chic Oberoi area. For more hopping options make your way into Legian where you can bargain with locals for souvenirs.

For a real treat go to the new mega beach club Cafe Del Mar at Batu Belig ( 5 min away) for sunset cocktails and some fine dining. You will be impressed. Other beach clubs worth visiting nearby are La Brisa at Echo Beach, La Laguna & Tropicola at Batu Belig & KU DE TA or Potato Head in Seminyak.
