Make sure you go to Sisterfields (family-friendly), Biku, Kynd, Ingka, BAKED (for pastries & croissants), and the super-popular Revolver, Ultimo & Cafe Bali are all within walking distance.
Travelling with kids? There’s Seminyak or Double Six beach, where you can hire surfboards and instructors by the hour. Culturally, they’ll enjoy a day trip to Ubud’s famous Monkey Forest Temple or sunset photos at the Holy Hindu Tanah Lot Temple on the water. For dinner, there are burgers at BossMan or Johnny Rockets. For dessert, head to the Seminyak Village, where you’ll find Candylicious or gelato at the famous Gusto in Kerobokan.
Want to party? Start the night at The Champagne Bar, Galaxy Sports Bar near Double Six Beach, The Goat or The Forge on Eat Street for pre-dinner drinks; then it’s off to Motel Mexicola for tacos and tequila or Malverde to party. Beach Clubs. Make sure you also go to Double Six beach at sunset to watch the best sunset in Bali. Grab a bean bag at one of the many beachside cafes and enjoy a cold Bintang or a few cocktails. We stayed at The Layar over Christmas for a week and were absolutely wowed by the fantastic villa. We were expecting luxury before we arrived, but nothing prepared us for the opulence and comfort we would have during our stay.

One word to describe our holiday experience at The Layar is' heavenly'. In fact, I think based on the 10 days we had here with our 3 kids I would have to add another word: 'perfect'. An awesome oasis in Seminyak, Bali
The Layar is a fantastic vacation place to explore Bali. It is an oasis of quiet in an otherwise bustling Seminyak city. The staff is attentive and super friendly. We stayed four weeks in Villa #15, a two-bedroom villa with a swimming pool and hang-out mezzanine.
The villa is meticulous with all and more of the amenities of a home. We got a home cook to cook evening meals in the villa, and she taught us to cook authentic Balinese meals. The area has excellent restaurants, including the restaurant at the entrance of The Layar.
