The villa’s timber Joglo pavilion blends perfectly with the tropical outdoor surrounds; kick back on a recliner and take in the beauty of the exotic plants and swaying palm trees. The pools surrounding the deck will no doubt be the place for many hours of relaxation with friends and family; lie down on a day bed and enjoy an in-house massage, all arranged by the attentive Balinese villa staff.

Living Areas

The unique design of Villa Cantik allows guests to enjoy tropical al-fresco living; the covered terrace houses the living and dining areas, so you can enjoy ocean views whilst dining or just relaxing in the tropical warmth that Bali is so famous for. There are comfy sofas for you to come together and have a laugh about the day’s activities before laying down tentative plans for the next day’s outings.

Staff & Services

The villa staff are always diligent and respectful of your holiday privacy; continental breakfasts will be served daily, along with general villa cleaning. If you need a pool safety fence, additional catering, transportation or a reservation made, ask the staff, and they will happily accommodate your requests.

Around Villa Cantik, Canggu (great location near Seseh & Pererenan beach)

The villa is located just metres from the shoreline at Pantai Seseh Beach, located on the outskirts of hip Canggu, so you will definitely enjoy some peace.

Travelling with children? Head to the Finns Recreation Club, where the kids can spend hours on the water slides, indoor trampolines, a ten-pin bowling alley, tennis courts, and a huge swimming pool. For dinner, there are loads of family-friendly restaurants in Canggu, such as Penny Lane, Burgreens and the famous Milk and Madu (with a kiddie’s play area).

Surf. For surf enthusiasts, head to nearby Echo Beach, Batu Bolong Beach and Berawa Beach; these offer the best surfing hot spots. For beginners, try Old Man’s Beach.

Cafes & restaurants. If you want to take the family out for a meal, then the popular area of Jalan Batu Bolong is nearby and is packed with amazing cafes, restaurants and bars. Places to try include Deus ex Machina, Luigis Pizza, BAKED, Shelter, Taco Casa, The Avocado Factory, The Common, Shady Shack, Sensorium and the super-popular Crate Cafe.

Beach Clubs. Canggu is now the beach club centre of Bali, so visit the popular The Lawn or The Times for sunset drinks and a few nibbles at the end of Jl Batu Bolong as you watch the sunset. Other beach clubs nearby are La Brisa and Finns or Atlas Beach Fest in Berawa.

Yoga & gyms. If yoga is your thing, then The Practice, Flow and Samadi Yoga are great studios nearby that offer daily classes for all levels. Head to Bull Gym, SOMA, Bali MMA, Obsidian, The Wrong Gym and Nirvana Strength for gym workouts.

Day Spas. For the girls, there are lots of amazing day spas in Canggu where you can get a massage, facial, manicure and a dreamy Balinese massage. Try Amo Day Spa, Spring, Therapy Day Spa, Tonic at Echo Beach and MYNX on Jl Nelayan.

Shopping. Follow this up with an afternoon browsing the shops along the Jalan Batu Bolong area. For more shopping options, head into Seminyak’s popular Eat Street or Legian, where you can bargain with locals for souvenirs. – your villa manager will arrange transport for you. Make sure you also visit the  Love Anchor local markets on Jl Batu Bolong, which are open daily. Here, you’ll be able to buy souvenirs from locals at great prices.

Sightseeing. You can easily explore other parts of the island from the villa. Make sure you visit Tanah Lot Temple (for sunset photos), Ubud’s famous Monkey Forest Temple and markets,  Uluwatu Temple, Kuta or Legian Beach for sunset Bintangs and Seminyak’s Eat Street and Oberoi area.

Shalimar booking terms and conditions:

• Shalimar Villas can be booked with a minimum of 3 nights in the Low Season, 5 nights in the High Season and 7 nights in Peak Season only if the whole estate is booked.
• The normal minimum stay requirement is still applicable if the guest does not book the whole estate.
• Villa Kalima and Makanda are open in Peak Season and can be booked individually.
• Villa Cantik at Shalimar is no longer available for booking in Low Season unless booked for a minimum of 7 nights.
• Villa Cantik at Shalimar is available for booking with the standard minimum requirements in Low and High Seasons if they are booked together with either Villa Makanda or Villa Kalima.
