Outdoor & Pool Area

When renting Villa Shalimar, guests can access three swimming pools. The main pool is directly in front of the Villa Kalima’s main pavilion, where the shallows offer built-in water beds and a table setting so you can enjoy cooling drinks right in the pool.

The manicured lawns run down to the sandy shoreline; what a fabulous place for the kids to run and play without any restrictions.

If you’re planning a wedding, it’s hard to find a more romantic tropical setting; there’s a specially built stone platform for couples to exchange vows underneath swaying tropical palms and a magical sunset backdrop.

Living areas

The villas provide open-air tropical living spaces; the two larger villa pavilions, Villa Kalima and Villa Makanda, both have large dining spaces with large timber dining tables that easily seat 12 guests. Villa Makanda has a fantastic built-in sofa area that can accommodate many guests at one time overlooking the smaller pool. All villas feature large flat-screen TVs and great stereo systems so you can create your holiday atmosphere. All villas have exceptional kitchens with all the modern amenities to cater to everyone.

Around Villa Shalimar Kalima, Canggu (beachfront villa in top location)

Villa Shalimar  Kalima is located on the beachfront at Seseh Beach and between Cemagi and Echo Beaches. Around the villa, you can take strolls and see the locals going about seaside village life. Bali Nirwana Golf Club is a short drive to the north along the coast, as is the Tanah Lot Temple, which is great for sunsets.

Cafes & restaurants. There are plenty of fabulous cafes, loads of healthy food bars and restaurants nearby at Echo and Batu Bolong Beaches, where you can have a coffee and take the kids for a bite to eat. Make sure you visit the popular Crate Cafe, Shady Shack, Deus ex Machina, Secret Spot, Sensorium and The Common.

Travelling with kids? Take them to the Finns Recreation Club, where there are waterslides, tenpin bowling and a massive indoor trampoline centre called Bounce. They’ll like a surf lesson at Old Man’s Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. Culturally, take them to Tanah Lot Temple nearby for sunset photos.

Beach Clubs. Canggu is the beach club centre of Bali. For sunset cocktails, chilled music, lazing by day beds, fine dining and the best sunsets in Bali, head to La Brisa at Echo Beach, Cafe Del Mar at Batu Belig,  the super popular Finns and Atlas Beach Fest in Berawa. Go to KU DE TA or Potato Head in Seminyak for a real treat.

Day Spas. For the ladies, there are some upmarket day spas in Canggu where you can get your hair and nails done and get a massage. Head to the super popular MYNX, Spring Day Spa, Tonic or Goldust Beauty Lounge for the best treatments.

Shopping. Follow this up with an afternoon browsing the shops and boutiques along Jalan Batu Bolong, where there are many shops to buy clothes, artwork, jewellery and souvenirs.   For more shopping options, head to Seminyak or Legian, where you can bargain with local vendors for souvenirs. Your villa manager will arrange transport and take you to the Kartika Plaza, Bali Galleria or Discovery Shopping Mall in Kuta, which has large shopping centres.

Surfing. If you like surfing, Echo Beach has some really good waves, and for those who want to hang on the beach & top up the tan, there are many beach umbrellas where you can hang for the day.

Fancy partying? Start the night at La Brisa or The Lawn for pre-dinner sunset cocktails. Then, it’s off to Motel Mexicola for tacos and tequila. Continue the party at Fat Mermaid, Mason’s Back Room or Mejan.

Sightseeing.  From the villa, you can easily explore other parts of the island. Make sure you visit Tanah Lot Temple (for sunset photos), Ubud’s famous Monkey Forest Temple,  Uluwatu Temple for the famous Kecak Dance, Kuta Beach for sunset Bintangs and Sideman to see the gorgeous ricefields.
