Seminyak Best Beach Bars

Signature sunset cocktails, infinity pools with gorgeous bodies, sensational cuisine, uber-cool private suites & international DJs – you will love Seminyak’s beach bar scene. Go ahead and enjoy!

Looking for an alternative to the mainstream nightclubs and bars in the  Seminyak area?

Try one of the many beach bars springing up all over the place. It’s a great alternative to watch the sunset over a cocktail or two whilst sitting on a bean bag. They are casual, easy to find (look for the cool lights and bean bags dotted on the sand) and offer tourists a great place to socialise before heading off for the evening.

Beach bars in Seminyak run between Legian and Ku De Ta Beach area in Petitenget through to Batu Belig, so all you have to do is start walking, and you’ll be spoiled for choice.

The Best Beach Clubs in Seminyak

1. Ku De Ta

You can’t say you have been to Bali without a visit to the very famous Ku De Ta – it’s the place to be seen and enjoy watching all the glam people. The music gets louder after sunset, so be prepared for the younger, hip crowd to take over the place. If you like it, it also has great food, so make an evening of it here. Prices are Western, so bring heaps of dollars ( or your credit card ), especially if you plan a big night! You can gain access to Ku De Ta from the beach, so why not spend the day here and relax with friends or your family on a private sunbed? The swimming pool is next to the beach, so the kids will enjoy splashing around while you enjoy a few cocktails &  food. You might even like to stay for dinner at Mejekawi, which would be a real treat!

2. Potato Head

See above, and it’s kinda the same as Ku De Ta – except on a grander scale – I would say twice the size and the pool has a bar. I see many people sit by the pool the whole day and then do the same at night. Loads of top-quality food, a grass area for the kids and family to chill out is a bonus, and relaxing music make Potato Head popular. It’s quite pricey, so be prepared to pay Australian prices for all drinks and food. There is also an upper-level restaurant where you can dine with sensational views over the ocean. The place is jam-packed from morning till night, so if your coming here on the weekend & want to have lunch or dinner, we would advise booking in advance.

3. Woobar

At the W Hotel/Resort – this is an upmarket beach bar with international DJs. Drinks are expensive, and you have to dress up for the night. The atmosphere is awesome, and they make one of the best cocktails in Bali. Make sure you come here for some sunset cocktails and glam it up with all the beautiful people.

4. La Plancha

This is famous as it’s the first beach bar to put bean bags on the sand. The trend soon caught on, and the whole area is littered with bars and bean bags pumping out cool tunes while masses of tourists grab a chair with a cold drink and some nibbles and watch the passing parade as the sunsets. It’s a great place to spend a few hours with friends or family, and it’s quite reasonably priced. Check out the video below to see how crazy it gets. For some, it may be too much, but if you get there early enough and get a great position, you’ll be well on your way to sipping that yummy cocktail.

“Bali Villa Escapes Tip: get here early as La Plancha gets super packed very, very quickly”.

La Plancha on Double Six Beach is the perfect setting for a few sundowners and snacks – take the kids and enjoy the vibe.

5. Mari Beach Club

Mari Beach Club is a hidden gem on Batu Belig Beach. With a prime beachfront location, a gorgeous swimming pool facing the ocean, and a budget-friendly menu (also family-friendly), Mari Beach House ticks the right boxes for those who don’t want all the hype of the bigger beach clubs. Come with your friends for the day and enjoy a super-chilled vibe with a few sundowners and you’ll be coming back for more – we can promise you that!

6. Cafe Del Mar

Just on the outskirts of Seminyak in Batu Belig is the new kid on the block: Cafe Del Mar. If you want to live it up and party with your mates, this is the beach bar to do it in. Rent your private suite with your pool and see what movie stars do. The cost is about AUD 2000 per day and includes alcohol. So worth it if you can get a group of about 20 together. For those that don’t want to spend that much, you can get a day bed or cabana by the pool and enjoy the views, music and amazing vibe.

Cafe Del Mar has taken all the good points of all the best beach bars in Seminyak and combined them here to make it a very memorable day. You can see why most visitors keep on coming back here. Check out the video below to get a better idea of what all the hype is about. The video was at midday before the late afternoon party crowd gathers, but this is just a taste of what a fun place this is!

“Bali Villa Escapes Tip: if you are coming to Cafe Del Mar with a taxi, expect delays getting there along Jalan Batu Belig ( the main road from Seminyak to Cafe Del Mar ). Give yourself plenty of time so you don’t miss the sunset”.

Visit: Cafe Del Mar

Address: Jl. Subak Sari, Canggu Ph +62 361 4471625 Open daily from 11am.

Don’t forget to rent your holiday villa near Cafe Del Mar so you can come and enjoy this fabulous beach club every day!

7. Mrs Sippy

While not quite on the beach, Mrs Sippy makes it onto this list because it’s such a popular day club, and they have tried to recreate the beach vibe by having sane next to the pool, so it feels like you are on the beach. The stand-out feature of Mrs Sippy is the diving board which everyone tries after a few drinks! The usual fine food, great music, a young party vibe and the fab pool area. It definitely should be on your beach bar party list!

As its website says: ” Welcome to Mrs Sippy Bali! The largest saltwater pool haven, home to the most glamorous pool parties, wedding events, music festivals and more in the heart of Seminyak”.

8. Small local beach bars

The local vendors are also a very good option – they are all dotted along the beach. Pull up a milk crate, order a Bintang with some friends and enjoy the atmosphere. You can’t miss these guys, and they will be more than happy to serve you for as long as you want – a much, much cheaper option.

What I find amazing is the number of taxis in Bali and the ease with which you can get one. So if you have had too much to drink, leave the motorbike or car and grab one of the local taxis or perhaps a Go Jek ( Bali’s equivalent of Uber). They are cheap and very clean – the only issue is the traffic. But that’s part of the experience.

If you happen to be staying in Legian or renting a holiday villa in Seminyak, visiting any of the above beach clubs is one of the best activities to do in the late afternoon to avoid the Bali traffic hassles.

New beach bars are always opening, and the list is far too extensive for us to write here, but most of them are all the same. It’s hard to pick one from the other.  Most people arrive at the beach at about 3 pm and randomly pick a bar that looks half decent. They are all cookie-cutter-style bars, so it doesn’t matter where you end up so long as you are there by sunset. Leave it too late, and you won’t be able to get a seat. It gets packed.

“Bali Villa Escapes Tip: get to the beach about an hour before sunset to get the best seat and a prime position before all the crowds come”.

9. 707 Beach Berm

Another hot spot on Batu Belig Beach, 707 Beach Berm, is a local beach bar sitting on the sand with beanbags and parasols. Drinks are affordable, the staff is friendly, the sunsets are spectacular, and the vibe is laid-back and easy-going.

10. Mano Beach House

Mano Beach House brings a little bit of the Caribbean to Bali. With tropical cabanas, thatched parasols, a swimming pool and fabulous ocean views, this beach house sits next to Pura Petitenget in Seminyak. The ambience is lovingly tranquil and laid-back. Nothing too fancy or pretentious, just the utmost cool and relaxed. Love it!

” Bali Villa Escapes Tip: there’s a great night market next door in Petitenget, so after a few cocktails, this might be a good place for some snacking once the sunsets….if you can fit any more in”.
