Pandawa Beach in Bali’s Bukit Peninsula is a gorgeous beach area that’s dominated by 5 insanely large Buddhist statues carved into the cliff face as your drive down the hill into the Pandawa Beach area.
Getting there is super easy and it’s a huge tourist drawcard especially, the Javanese. All you have to do is head towards Uluwatu along Jalan Raya Uluwatu and follow the signs once your past the GWK park.
The beach itself is great for swimming and is also a popular surf break. There is an outer reef so the waters are calm once your inside which is great for families. The sand is white, inviting and there are loads of beachside cafes where you can stop off for a cheap local Indonesian lunch or quick snack for the kids
It’s also a great place to be around sunset time where you can enjoy a cold Bintang and enjoy the fabulous ambiance that’s common at Pandawa. It’s a bit off the map for many westerners but the locals love it. If you manage to get down here you’ll soon see what the fuss is all about!
Two beach chairs will set you back about $10, which is fantastic value and you can hire other beach and water sports equipment.
It gets really crowded on the weekends & public holidays with locals and Indonesians from Java all coming to the beach with their family to make a day of it and enjoy the pristine blue waters. There are lots of water activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, parasailing and you can rent some jet skis as well.
