This is the perfect Ubud Villa for a large group of a couple of families wanting to holiday together. Go with a group or extended family and enjoy this massive villa or perhaps we should call it an estate as the grounds are huge.

The villa has got a Balinese architectural feel which seeps perfectly into the rice field back drop. This is really a retreat where you can let the whole Bali experience take over you.  The sheer size of the villa means that even if you are in a large group there are still enough spaces for you to find yourself a quiet spot and have some ‘alone time’. The location like so many of these large estates is not exactly in Ubud but about 15 minutes away from the action.  If you were ever going to try a different experience in holiday villa accommodation, then this is a must. What is Ubud best known for?

Ubud is a small town about 1.5 hours drive from Seminyak and is known as the cultural heart of Bali. It has a local population of about 35,000 Balinese  and the actual number of tourists visiting the area at any one point in time can be about 10, 000 people. It’s famous world wide as an arts and crafts centre with hundreds of local art galleries, jewellery shops and boutiques found throughout the entire area. Everywhere you look there seems to be some type of gallery or artists work shop. It’s also known as the yoga capital of Bali where there are dozens of yoga retreats and schools catering for travelllers that want to combine the spirituality of Ubud with their yoga practice.

Where is central Ubud?

It’s due south, past the very famous  Monkey Forest  and still within and easy 15 minute walk of the main market;  Padang Tegal  which then blends into the other villages known as  Nyuh Kuning  &  Pengosekan, about 2.5 km from central Ubud.  The centre of Ubud’s main street is known as  Jalan Raya  Ubud and the 2 other streets that are worth a visit are called:  Jalan Monkey Forest  and Jalan Hanoman which forms a loop that all tourist seem to walk.

How long do you need to spend in Ubud?

Good question as it depends on how long you have to spend in Bali, but a minimum of 2-3 days is advisable. There’s so much to see and do around the area that you will need time to explore the rice fields and the local villages, galleries and markets.

What’s the main fuss about Ubud?

It’s the vegan cafes, hipsters, yoga addicts, tourists and ex pats who all come to Ubud searching for the same things; serenity, peace and quiet and basically to escapes the madness & crowds of Southern Bali.
