Jiwa Yoga Seminyak – a fabulous studio.

Let’s be real here.

Not many people want to do exercise while on holiday, especially in Bali.

They want to sit by the pool, drink a few Bintangs and relax with the kids or their mates.

But there are a few of us (and yes, there is a small group) who like to be active on their holiday, which means either hitting the gym, going for walks on the beach, or, for those dedicated yogies, a few yoga sessions either in the morning or later arvo. Like most yoga fanatics, you have your regular yoga studio back home and love everything about it, and for want of a better word, you might be reluctant to venture out and try a new studio. But the good news for Bali holidaymakers who want to keep up their practice is that there’s a really top little yoga studio in Seminyak called Jiwa Yoga.

Now it’s not like any of those flashy mega yoga studios packed full of yogies on teacher training courses or full of Instagrammers, no, this studio is as down-to-earth as it gets. It’s a no-frills, no-pretence studio geared towards people who love any form of hot yoga. I love the Bikram style of yoga, so it suits me down to the ground. But for those who want a brutal, hot workout (and I mean intense), they also offer a hot pilates session run in November 2025 by a young Russian girl who takes no prisoners and delivers the most intense 60-minute hot pilates session that will leave you broken (but in a good way).

They also offer Yin and Hatha yoga as other options, which you can easily find on their class timetable. You should read more about this studio here.

As far as pricing goes, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as it’s only $15 per visit, which is a great value considering you might only go a couple of times while you’re in Bali. So it’s an inexpensive way to stay on top of your practice, burn off a few boozy calories, and meet some charming instructors.

Now you might be wondering if this place is hard to get to or out of the way, but don’t stress, as it’s smack bang in the heart of Seminyak. So if you happen to be staying in one of our Seminyak villas, it won’t be more than a 5-10-minute Go-Jek ride (depending on traffic). But Seminyak is fairly low-key most of the time, so getting to Jiwa shouldn’t be an issue.

The interesting thing about Jiwa Yoga is that, while it has been around for ages, class sizes remain fairly small, so it feels like you’re always getting private tuition. Maybe this article will pull in more students. But for those who like the intimate feel of a yoga studio and don’t want large crowds (especially hot, sweaty bodies), Jiwa offers this perfect option.

So next time you’re feeling like a stretch or an intense workout, make sure you visit Jiwa Yoga in Seminyak. Your villa manager will happily arrange a taxi to take you there.
