Best Spas in Uluwatu

Uluwatu is located on the gorgeous Bukit Peninsula in south Bali.

The area is also referred to as ‘The Bukit’, and it is mostly known for its paradise-like white sandy beaches and epic surf breaks.

The area is lively, hip and happening, and great fun to explore on a motorbike! There are many amazing beach clubs, charming cafes, and excellent restaurants to check out. After a day of surfing and swimming at one of the many beaches in Uluwatu, we recommend visiting one of the many beautiful day spas. They are like little sanctuaries (mostly with mesmerising views!) where you can recharge your body, mind and soul.

These are 9 of our favourite day spas in Uluwatu

1. The Istana

Let’s start with the most extraordinary spa in Uluwatu. The Istana (translates to The Palace) is a luxury spa, unlike any other spa you’ll find in Bali. It’s an amazing place with out-of-this-world facilities and a magnificent clifftop setting. How about a sound sauna dome and flotation tanks? This amazing health retreat has multiple saunas and pools, a meditation hall and a cryotherapy chamber (the first and only one on the island!). You can float away in the sensory deprivation tanks or join a yoga or meditation class. There’s nothing not to love!

You can go for a traditional Balinese massage, but you can also opt for the 5000-year-old Indian therapy Shirodhara or a traditional Thai Herbal Compress massage. Spa Alila also does Microdermabrasion and many more holistic beauty and health treatments. The spa packages are pure bliss! Couples will love the Cliff Edge Spa Cabana Package in an open-air cabana just 100 metres above sea level. It’s an unparalleled spa experience!
