With our beloved Canggu getting busier and busier with the day, Pererenan is the next best place to be in Bali!
What used to be a nice, quiet area right next to Canggu is now hip and happening, with all sorts of cool news cafes opening up. Pererenan hasn’t lost its easy-going, laid-back atmosphere, and there are still so many beautiful rice fields everywhere. Nestled in between those lush rice paddies, you can sit down at one of the cafes for a delicious breakfast or lunch with a cup of coffee and juice. And, the great part is, if you happen to be staying in a villa in Canggu, Pererenan is only 5 to 10 minutes away by scooter (obviously depending on traffic, but there’s a great shortcut between the two areas) – how handy! But if you happen to be travelling around the island and staying in a Bali villa and want to check out the hype surrounding Pererenan, your villa manager will be able to arrange transport.

1. Cactus Cafe
If you’re looking for the most Instagrammable cafes in Pererenan, Cactus Cafe is definitely one of them! With cute cactus-inspired interiors, Cactus Cafe is the little sister of Canteen in Canggu. You can sit inside to enjoy air-conditioned comfort, or you can hang out on the verandah, watching the world go by while sipping your morning coffee. On the menu, you’ll find yummy sandwiches, wraps and bagels, healthy salads and, of course, very good coffee. The Avo Matcha Smoothie is a piece of art, and we also love the smoothie bowls.

2. Human Bean
Human Bean is tucked away on a little lane off Pererenan’s main street. A lovely quiet place where you can dive into the world of coffee beans. How about coffee infused with orange, charcoal or cinnamon? It sure sounds interesting! Their Breakfast Classics offer a great variety of your favourite brekkie. Avo on toast, pancakes, french toast, Bircher muesli bowl and more. You can go for the BBQ pulled pork burrito, chicken wrap or broccoli fritter for brunch. There are plenty of vegan options, too. This sleek modern cafe boasts an airy, open design inspired by the Melbourne cafe culture. Looking for organic, gluten-free and vegan? Would you rather opt for a small family-run cafe than anything else? Kinoa Clean-Eating Concept ticks all the boxes. Moreover, this charming cafe is located just 400 metres from Pererenan Beach. The family welcomes everyone warmly, and the open-air garden setting is also lovely. Everything is made fresh with local produce. Son Hansel is in charge of the coffee, and daughter Arielle does all the baking. Mom Erlin takes care of the rest.
