Getting here: Sanur sits on Bali’s southeast coast. It’s an incredibly easy 30-minute run from Ngurah Rai International Airport, especially now that you can hop straight onto the bypass and toll road.
The vibe: Long before Seminyak or Canggu blew up, Sanur was actually Bali’s original holiday hotspot. It started out as a quiet seaside fishing village, and while it’s grown over the last 15 years into a brilliant hub for day spas, great cafes, and boutique shopping, it’s never lost that relaxed, old-school village soul.
The beaches: Unlike the wild, wavy west coast, Sanur is famous for its long stretches of calm, golden sand. Because the coast is protected by a massive shallow outer reef, the water stays beautifully flat.
