Sanur is the place to go for Souvenirs
The absolute best place to shop for souvenirs in Sanur, Bali is the beach. You can buy every imaginable Balinese souvenir, such as your standard must-have Bintang T-shirt, your Bintang stubby holder, children’s clothing, bottle openers, wooden carvings, as well as all your bracelets, sarongs, fake sunnies, board shorts, Balinese face masks, wallets, hats…the list goes on and on. You can also do your grocery shopping at the huge new mega shopping centre called Grand Lucky.
What you need to do is make your way to the beach and go from there. There are loads of beachside vendors selling their wares up and down the main pathway, which runs parallel to the beach. Sure, there are also lots of shopping options on the main tourist road, Jalan Danau Tambling, but it’s so much more fun on the beach. The vendors are really friendly and, as you would expect, are very keen to engage with you in chit-chat in the hope you’ll end up buying a souvenir.
The trick when buying your souvenir from these vendors is not to accept the first price. You have to bargain a fair bit here to get the price down to what its true value should be.
