Bottega Italiana Petitenget, Bali – a quick walk through
If you are in Bali & staying in one of our fabulous, luxury Seminyak holiday villas then you simply must make your way to Bottega Italiana in the Petitenget area of Seminyak.
The thing that makes this restaurant so special is the fact that they make all their pasta fresh by hand. You can actually see them making the pasta, rolling it up and delicately making it right in front of you.
The food as you can imagine is absolutely delicious and it’s open for lunch and dinner. To get a better idea of who they are you can always visit the Bottega Italiana website.
The food is fairly basic and they don’t like some other restaurants trying to overcompensate their lack of culinary skills with complicated dishes. Here at Bottega, it’s unpretentious, down to earth home-cooked Italian meals that are absolutely mouth-watering. This is why they have 4 locations and this is why they have such a loyal following of ex pates and tourists who keep on coming back. They also serve fabulous coffees and tempting pastries. Go for the tiramisu and chocolate mousse. Definitely not a place to count your calories.
Bottega was the brainchild of the team that created Zibiru Restaurant, so you know the food is going to be good. All the ingredients are organic and sourced ( when they can) from local suppliers. This is also a great place for vegans and vegetarians as there are items on the menu that are 100% vegan.
The way is works at Bottega is you choose your pasta: tagliatelle, tagliolini, gnocchi, orecchiette or gramigne – they are all gluten free and are made from buckwheat & rice flour.
You then choose your delicious topping: bolognese, basil pesto, pesto della casa, nduja, pomodorino e stracciatella, pomodorino e ricotta salata, amatriciana or our favourite scoglio.
If you have a big appetite the portions are not overly large so it’s good to mix it up and get a couple of different pasta dishes. Remember this is Bali so it’s still going to be lots cheaper than back home. The restaurant also has a selection of wine & beers.
The Petitenget location of this particular restaurant is super handy as it’s located on Eat Street which means it’s easy to get to. Most probably your staying in a hotel or villa nearby so ask your villa manager or concierge for directions or simply grab a taxi. You will be there in no time.
