Why Berawa Beach is Beautiful at Sunset
If you want to see one of the best sunsets in Bali and be part of an exciting beach scene, then you simply have to make your way over to Pantai Berawa and find a hidden beach.
Well, it’s not so hidden as it’s right next to the popular Finns Beach Club.
At Hidden Beach, there are loads of beachside restaurants/cafes where you can pull up a bean bag on the sand, grab a cold beer and enjoy the sunset. Like all popular places in Bali on the beach that are famous for sunsets, the beach area gets crowded, so our advice is to get here around 4 pm to secure your best position.
The vibe is very relaxed, and it’s first in best dressed. Prices are cheap, so if you are coming here with the kids, you can have a fairly cheap meal at any of the restaurants. Getting there is very easy, especially if you happen to be staying in one of our Canggu Villas or Bali Villas near Berawa. All you need to do is speak to your villa manager, who will happily organise a taxi for you. If you are in a large group, then a van can be arranged as well.

If you are travelling by scooter, all you need to do is make your way down Pantai Berawa, and you will see a small sign on the right-hand side saying: ‘Hidden Beach’. From there, follow the dirt track for about 50 metres, and you’ll find it. Most of the cafes here are kind of make-shift quick start-up Bali-style wooden shacks, but they simply add to the atmosphere. They are pretty much all the same, so just pick one that looks decent and has a bean bag available.
If you feel like something more upmarket, where there are many restaurants and cafes, you can always make your way to Old Man’s beach at Jalan Batu Bolong, which is about 15 minutes away.
Most visitors that come to Berawa Beach are quite surprised to find an exciting and buzzy area that is now becoming a fashionable and much more desirable alternative to Canggu Central, so they tend to stay in Berawa. Once here, there’s really no point in leaving, especially when places like Hidden Beach are all within walking distance.
Although it’s the next beach along Canggu, little surprises like Hidden Beach just add to the uniqueness of the place. In fact, from the video, you can actually see just how popular it really is at sunset time. After sunset, it’s a good idea to take a stroll back up the road if you feel like more food and stop at restaurants like One Eyed Jacks, Suka, NUDE, Mowies, RUKO or Matcha Cafe.
The Best Time To Visit Hidden Beach, Berawa
Any time of the year is great, but just be aware that the rainy season on the west coast of Bali is from November through to February, so there may be tropical downpours in the afternoon. Having said that, these don’t last long, so it really shouldn’t deter you from making your way over here to Berawa.
