From the moment we made our initial inquiry to the team at Bali Villa Escapes, right through to the time we were dropped off at the airport, our 1-week stay at Villa Jepun at the Seminyak Residence was absolute bliss and total perfection. As villa novices, we were a tad apprehensive about what to expect and what it would be like but our fears and trepidation were soon swept well under the carpet as soon as we entered the gates and notices the wonderful fish pond and heard the sounds of the water feature next to the pool.
Our family were looking for a 3 bedroom villa in Seminyak for a mid-year break, and we had only 1 week. We are Sydney based and through our extensive research online we found the website Bali Villa Escapes and were immediately impressed by the way in which our initial inquiry was handled by the very friendly Dewi.

We have used booking agencies in the past ( mainly for hotels) and were keen to give this agency a try because we have found that they were the only ones that accepted payment in Australian dollars and that all villas quoted were in Australian dollars. With the Aussie dollar going down against the US dollar we thought that we could save a bit on the cost of our villa if we paid locally. Plus we could also EFT the deposit and balance to a Westpac account which just added a layer of certainty and security.
Friendly Bali reception team there to greet you every day
We found that the reservation team were eager to help with all our inquiries and were very quick to get back to us. We do have a 2-year-old so we were concerned about how family-friendly the villas were. We needed high chairs and a pool barrier, which was promptly organised for us. My husband also wanted to rent a scooter to be able to zip down to the beach which was also pre-arranged and there waiting for us when we arrived. Now that’s great customer service if ever I have seen it!
Jacky, Yuyuk and the team provided us with all the necessary information and when we arrived in our Villa we found that everything had been taken care of. It went without a hitch. We loved getting picked up at the airport as we arrived at about 10 pm – it would have been a real hassle to organise a taxi at this hour. By the time we left immigration, changed money into Rupiah, we were in the villa all unpacked by about 11.30 pm. I should also add that given the late hour we didn’t expect anyone to be there meeting us, but in fact, the manager was there and he showed us around the villa and was more than happy to explain what’s going on in the local area and some interesting places to see.
In-house staff to cook the tastiest breakfast
Let me start by saying that the Villa was absolutely immaculate. Everything was clean, in order and the entire place was spotless. The pool was clean, the sheets and bed were world-class ( love the queen size mattress in the main room), the Wifi was fast and always working and the TV had all the right channels (great to watch the State of Origin in the comfort of our luxurious lounge room).
One thing that I really loved was the way the staff would come around and ask us the night before what we wanted for breakfast the next day. Ketut and Made would be there promptly at 7 am for a great fruit salad breakfast with a Nssi Goreng. Yes, we had Nasi Goreng for breakfast every day ( as they say, when in Rome).
The villa was right smack bang in the heart of Seminyak so we were able to casually stroll down with the kids to check out the great cafes and restaurants. Occasionally, we left the children with the villa staff who were more than happy to do a bit of babysitting. This was unbelievable and all part of their friendly service and another reason why I’m more than happy to rave about this place.
The Balinese staff are always happy to help you throughout your stay.
Every day the beds were made, the bathrooms were cleaned and the kitchen was tidied up, and if we needed anything extra, the Villa staff were on hand and there within 30 seconds. We were treated like kings.
You somehow get very attached to staying in a Villa and by the end of the week, we felt as if it was our own home. It was sad to leave but we have our trip planned for next year and we know where we will be staying.
