Canggu Beach at Sunset Time

If you want to watch the most incredible sunset in Bali, you have to make your way to Canggu Beach. 

Now when I say Canggu Beach, I’m referring to beaches such as Batu Belig, Batu Bolong, and Echo Beach.

Here you can take the kids or your friends and enjoy some fantastic beach bars such as La Laguna, La Brisa, the famous Finns and of course the new  Cafe Del Mar. If you’re staying in Seminyak, all you need to do is hop into a taxi, and it will take about 10 minutes, depending on the traffic. If you are lucky enough to be holidaying in Canggu and renting a Canggu villa, all these amazing beaches are probably within walking distance.

The best part about this time of the day is that the sunsets over the ocean, so you get this most incredible view. Most people come here at about 4 pm or 5 pm and get a prime position on the beach with a few cold Bintangs to add to the ambience. You will find that there are also many smaller beach bars where you can grab a bean bag on the beach, and they also serve light meals and snacks for the kids.

Another great thing you can do is rent a surfboard at Batu Bolong or Old Man’s beach and have a late afternoon surf. Board hire is relatively cheap at about AUD 10 per hour, and you can also hire an instructor to go with you for an extra AUD 20. Afterwards, as you make your way home, loads of cafes and restaurants are dotted throughout Canggu, where you can refuel before heading out for the evening.
