Where to Eat with Kids in Seminyak

The best part of a Bali holiday is (for mum anyway) not having to cook. When you’re staying in a villa in Seminyak, you may have a chef in the house, but eating out with the family is always a nice change.

When you’re out and about shopping with the kids or just walking around Seminyak taking in the sights, this handy list gives you some of our fav restaurants where you don’t have to dress up, are affordable and super family-friendly.

Seminyak is well known for its restaurants, food scene, and some high-end options (keep that in mind for a date night!).

The main street, Jalan Kayu Aya, is known as “Eat Street” and is filled with restaurants, some exceptional cafes that are also child-friendly and fast food places to fill those hungry little appetites.

We’ve put together a list of some great places to take the kids in and around Seminyak where they will be welcomed and, more importantly, you can relax. Most of the villas are nearby, so all you have to do is take the kids and walk around. If you get lost, there are always friendly locals who will be able to point you in the right direction.

1. Sisterfields

This place is an institution and probably the best-known restaurant in Seminyak. Burgers, pizzas, salads, wraps, juices, you name it. It’s packed with a great vibe, making this a family-friendly restaurant. Loved by ex-pats and most tourists visiting Seminyak. This should be on your priority list of places to take the kids.

Hard to go wrong with pizza and kids. Great pizza and friendly staff make this a winner all around. A cosy-sized restaurant in a quiet side street – you can always opt for takeaway if you can’t get a table or book to ensure you do. The pizzas are true Italian style with thin crusts and minimal toppings.

A relaxed and friendly semi-open-air burger joint. Wacko bake their buns daily and make their mayonnaise and sauces. As well as burgers, the menu includes fish and chips, hot dogs, spag bol and steaks, all with the obligatory chips and onion rings. Match these with a decadent milkshake creation, and the family will be pretty full.

5. Happy Chappy’s

Outstanding Chinese food in a stylish, upmarket setting. Sunday Yum Cha is a fun option for kids; the food is fresh and tasty. With friendly and attentive service, Happy Chappy is a great family option.

6. Taco Casa

Mexican food is always a hit with kids, and Taco Casa serves up tortillas that are handmade with fresh ingredients (and no MSG!). The staff are friendly, and the service is quick. And with margaritas for mum & dad to relax with it, it’s hard to beat.

7. Made’s Warung

This place is an institution, a fantastic traditional Balinese restaurant complete with Balinese dancers. It is set up for tourists, though, offering a western menu too – which is great for pickier eaters. Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere make this a great place to introduce Balinese food to the kids and have a relaxed family dinner.

8 Ku De Ta

Can a beach club in Seminyak be a place where you can take the kids for a meal? You bet! It’s not only for the adults, but KU DE TA is super-family friendly. With a kiddies menu, sensational swimming pool (to burn off that holiday energy while the adults can chill out and have a few cocktails) and lots of kids activities, KU DE TA is one place you gotta take the children. Every Sunday, KU DE TA invites families for brunch and long, chilled-out lunches with loads of kids’ activities: where the kids can enjoy arts & crafts, face painting, bouncing castle and other exciting activities. The KU is an excellent kick-off to a Sunday session for the family (Sunday between 11 am and 3 pm). Also, all kid’s activities are professionally managed by super-kid-friendly staff, so you can kick back and enjoy some quality downtime.

9. Motel Mexicola in Seminyak

The kids will enjoy the tacos and burritos and the fun-themed Mexican-style restaurant. They can run around in the courtyard and let off some steam while the adults knock back a few margaritas. In the heart of Seminyak, getting there should be a 10-minute taxi ride from most villas.

10. The Lawn in Batu Bolong

Take the kids to Batu Bolong, the next suburb from Seminyak, and enjoy a picnic or sunset early meal by the ocean. There are hammocks, large cushions and bean bags for the whole family to relax and chill out. If you want a quick swim to cool down, the beach is right there. Food is easygoing and unpretentious, with various snacks and popcorn for the kids. This is a great day out, but I would say it best to come around 2-3 pm when it’s getting later in the afternoon and less hot.

11. BossMan Burger

The name says it all. For the best burgers in Seminyak, head to BossMan on Jalan Cendana, just off Eat Street. It’s opposite Seminyak Village, so it’s super easy to find, and you’ll notice the place by all the buzz and people around – it’s soooo popular!!

12. Johnny Rockets

American-themed hamburger joint is strictly for the kids. On Eat Street, with stand-out signage, makes this restaurant hard to miss.  Kids will love the relaxed vibe and the fast-food style.  There are shakes, burgers, salads, fries and hot dogs. Afterwards, treat them to some lollies at Candylicious at Seminyak Village.

13. Candylicious

Take the kids to Candylicious in Seminyak (in Seminyak Village) for a treat. If they have a sweet tooth, they’ll love this place. Chocolates, jelly beans and all the sugary treats they’ll love.

14. Naughty Nuri’s

An institution in Seminyak, Naughty Nuris has served families burgers and ribs for over a decade. It’s a MUST visit; as you can see from the video, it’s super easy to get to.
