5 bedrooms with en-suites

At Villa Cemara, there are 5 air-conditioned bedrooms, all with private en-suite bathrooms with modern state-of-the-art facilities, and they are very spacious. All rooms boast king-sized comfy beds where you hear the sound of the ocean at night. In addition, the kings can be converted into twin beds if required (great for kids sharing). The main bedroom is in a separate pavilion with a private verandah overlooking the beach, which is great for those early morning swims. The en-suite has its jacuzzi in a private courtyard – how perfect! The remaining 4 bedrooms are in 2 separate pavilions, have private en suite bathrooms, and have TVs in 2 of the rooms. All bedrooms have ample storage facilities.

Outdoor areas

The garden area is absolutely gorgeous, and to top it off, you have 50 metres of access to the beach right in front of the villa. The garden area exudes a zen-like ambience with tropical well, established gardens for those morning meditation or yoga sessions or to relax and enjoy the lotus ponds and many water features. As soon as you enter Villa Cemara, all the stress will peel away as you immerse yourself in this Balinese tropical holiday villa. The kids will enjoy hours of playing in the 10-metre swimming pool while the adults can relax and chill out in the poolside gazebo with a cool afternoon cocktail or cold Bintang. Also, sun chairs are on the pool deck, so you can relax, catch up on some holiday reading, or top up your tan.

Open plan living areas

The open-plan living area at Villa Cemara is perfect for guests to spend hours together or enjoy a few sunset drinks before dinner. There are comfy/plush sofas for guests to relax and watch their favourite Netflix movie. Guests can also enjoy fabulous ocean views from the living room, perfect for adding to that Balinese beach-holiday vibe. Get the chef to prepare a BBQ dinner for everyone while you sit outside and enjoy the warm tropical balmy Bali breeze. If you fancy cooking a few snacks for the kids, there is a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern amenities you could want. Several recreational facilities are available to keep everyone entertained (once they’ve finished swimming by the pool and beach), including a music system with an extensive library,  iPod dock, DVD library with films, and board games!

Balinese staff

An English-speaking villa manager is on call to handle any inquiries and arrange tours, BBQ nights, dinner reservations, in-house villa massages, shopping tours and activities for the kids. Just ask him, and he’ll be happy to help. Other villa staff include housekeepers, pool maintenance, gardeners, private butler, cook and security. When you stay at Villa Cemara, you don’t have to lift a finger.

If you wish, rent a  6-seater car  and a 12-seater minibus to travel around the island.

Around Villa Cemara, Sanur (beachfront location)

Sanur is a chilled-out part of Bali, yet there are some great places to take the kids for a meal, do some shopping, grab a coffee and visit fabulous day spas.

Travelling with kids? Take them to the Bali Safari Park near Keramas for a fun day out or to the famous Monkey Forest Temple in Ubud. Then, you might like to take them to Waterbom Bali in Kuta (Asia’s premier water theme park) for a fun day on the water slides. They’ll also love playing on the beach, where they can surf, snorkel and swim. For dinner, there are delish ribs and burgers at the popular Naughty Nuris, burgers at Maccas (yes, there’s a Mcdonald’s nearby) and yummy Italian at Massimo. For dessert, there’s Italo Gelato for treats.

Day Spas. Ladies, there are some great day spas in Sanur where you can get your hair and nails done and have one of those dreamy Balinese massages. For the best treatments, head to Glo Day Spa & Salon, Koa Shala, and The Nest Beachside Spa.

Shopping. The main shopping area of Sanur is Jl Danau Tamblingan. All you have to do is get your villa manager to arrange transport to take you, and you can buy homewares, jewellery, artwork and souvenirs. For more shopping options, spend the day at Kuta’s Kartika Plaza area or Seminyak’s famous Eat Street and Oberoi areas.

Cafes and restaurants. Sanur is buzzing with great cafes and restaurants where you can grab a coffee or take the kids for a bite to eat. Make sure you go to Soul on the beach (for casual nibblies), the popular Genius Cafe (for vegans), Lilla Pantai (for beachside dining), Bread Basket and Daily Baguette (for croissants and pastries) & Taqisa for a fun Mexican night out.

Touristy Stuff. You can easily explore other parts of the island from the villa, and your villa manager will handle the transport. Make sure you go to Uluwatu Temple, Canggu’s popular Batu Bolong, Jimabarn Bay for seafood dinner on the beach, Keramas Beach (if you love surfing), Kuta Beach for sunset Bintangs and Tanah Lot Temple for sunset photos.
