Traditional luxury

The combined living and dining room is furnished with intricately carved antiques, and it features limestone-carved walls. At the same time, the living room is equipped with AC, and it is designed with glass doors that open up to the garden and pool area. In need of a break from the tropical heat? Turn on the AC and relax on the sofa, reading a book or watching TV. In a tropical mood? Turn off the AC, open the doors and enjoy the garden breeze and the sound of laughter as the kids plunge into the pool.

A pool with a built-in jacuzzi

The garden is sunny and tropical, home to a most inviting private swimming pool with a tiled seating area and 3 jets. Get those cocktails out! The stone sun deck features lounge beds for sunbathing sessions, a seating area and a thatched gazebo where you can snooze a little in the shade. Stroll around the garden, and you’ll find a secret ‘Buddha Garden’ where you can shower outdoors and get into the Zen state of mind.

3 deluxe bedrooms with AC

Villa Saffron has 3 bedrooms, each featuring air-conditioning, satellite TV and a large canopied king-size bed. The master bedroom sits separately from the main building in a stand-alone bungalow that opens up to the garden and pool. This room features a daybed in addition to the canopied four-poster bed. The en-suite bathroom is more like a private garden where you can shower in the open air or enjoy a hot bath under the starry night sky. The other 2 bedrooms sit up on top of the living room on the first floor of the main building. Each room has a private en-suite bathroom, one of which has a bathtub. All 3 bedrooms are decorated with original oil paintings by famous Balinese artists.

Villa Saffron is located in Petitenget, which happens to be the place where all of the most famous restaurants, spas and beach clubs are located. Potato Head, W Bali, Saigon Street, Biku, Sarong, Metis, Jiwa Spa, Sundari Day Spa, the list is just endless. It is the chicest, most sophisticated area in Seminyak, and it is the place where everyone wants to be!

Cafes. There are many family-friendly cafes nearby where you can grab a coffee and a bite to eat with the kids, like Pison, Livingstones, Little Ingka, the popular Revolver, Monsieur Spoon, BAKED and Starbucks.

Fancy Partying? Start the night off at the new mega beach club Atlas Beach Fest in Berawa for sunset cocktails. Then, it’s off to The Champagne Bar on Eat Street for pre-dinner drinks. Make your way to Motel Mexicola for tequila, tacos and Bintangs and loads of fun. Continue the party at La Favela, Shi Shi or Sky Garden, where you can dance till dawn. Or, it’s off to The Forge for a nightcap.

Travelling with kids?  Take them to Waterbom Bali (Asia’s premier water theme park) in Kuta or Finns Recreation Club, which has waterslides, ten-pin bowling, and a massive indoor trampoline centre called Bounce. You might even take them for a surf lesson at Double Six Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. The popular Monkey Forest Temple in Ubud is about 90 minutes away, which is a must-see for the kids. Follow this up with burgers at Johnny Rockets and Grill’d or BossMan opposite Seminyak Village & dessert at the Yoghurt Republic or the best gelato at Gusto in Kerobokan.

Day Spas. For the ladies, there are loads of upmarket day spas nearby where you can get your nails and hair done and have one of those dreamy Balinese massages. Head to The Blow Bar, Rob Peetoom or Sundari Day Spa in Petitenget & The Shampoo Lounge at the top of Jalan Kayu Aya.

Shopping. Afterwards, spend the afternoon browsing the art galleries, jewellery & homewares stores in the chic Oberoi area. For more shopping options, hop into a taxi and go to the Kartika Plaza area in Kuta, where there are large shopping centres like Lippo & Discovery Shopping Mall. Closer by, you can bargain with locals for Balinese souvenirs in Legian.
