In fact, this villa is hidden away in the trendiest part of town, close to Oberoi Road (Jalan Kayu Aya) and Petitenget. Tropical lifestyle

Always wanted to have a thatched roof over your head? This is your chance! From the outside, these cabana-like traditional Balinese bungalows look oh so tropical and charming, and from the inside, the high vaulted timber ceilings are just stunning to see. Villa Damai Taman features a large open-plan living room with a rustic interior design and intricately carved teak wooden furniture. Overhead ceiling fans keep the living room airy and cool, and all day long, there are garden views to enjoy, and you can plunge into the pool any time. The villa is furnished with Balinese sofas, a satellite TV, a large teak dining table and a fully equipped kitchen.

Private garden with a lagoon

The beautiful garden features a lagoon-inspired swimming pool with curves and crystal-clear water. The shallow step-in makes a perfect little water playground for the little ones, or they can play on the green grass under the watchful eye of the loving parents (or the nanny – ask the staff to find you to help someone great!). A pool fence is available upon request. All-weather rattan sun beds and parasols are placed on the timber deck by the poolside, and there is also a shady gazebo to lounge in.

Villa Damai Taman houses 4 bedrooms. The 3 large bedrooms have four-poster double beds draped in mosquito nets. The rooms are equipped with AC and feature tropical open-air bathrooms to shower alfresco.

Around Villa Damai Taman, Seminyak (easy 10 min walk to beach & Eat Street)

Fashion boutiques, shopping malls, coffee cafes, day spas, restaurants and beach clubs are all found within minutes of your villa.

You can walk to the beach for sunset drinks, go shopping, grab a coffee or high tea, get a massage or a manicure and pedicure. Some great cafes nearby where you can also take the kids for a bite to eat include Kynd, Monsieur Spoon, Sisterfields, Kim Soo, the popular Revolver, Coffee Cartel, Cornerhouse (a great cafe to take the kids) and even Starbucks along Eat Street.

Fancy Partying? Start the night off at KU DE TA for sunset cocktails; then it’s off to Red Carpet, The Goat, The Forge or Nirvana Sports Bar along Eat Street for pre-dinner drinks. Make your way to Motel Mexicola for tacos, tequila and Bintangs. Continue the party at La Favela or Shi Shi, where you can dance till dawn or stop off at Potato Head for a nightcap before returning to the villa.

Day Spas. Ladies will love the fact that there are loads of day spas near the villa where you can get your hair and nails done, plus have one of those fantastic Balinese massages. Head to Rob Peetoom or Sundari Day Spa in Petitenget, Prana,  Bodyworks or The Shampoo Lounge.

Travelling with kids? Take them to Watrebom Bali (Asia’s premier water theme park) or the Finns Recreation Club, where there are waterslides. ten-pin bowling and a huge indoor trampoline centre called Bounce. They’ll also like a surf lesson at Double Six Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. For dinner, there are burgers at BossMan, Grill’d or Johnny Rockets and delicious Gelato at Gusto in Kerobokan for dessert.

Shopping. If you want to spend the day shopping, you are in luck, as Seminyak is the shopping heart of Bali. Make your way to Seminyak Square (10 min away) and walk up to Jalan Legian, where you can buy clothes, homewares, jewellery, souvenirs and artwork. For more shopping options, go to the Kartika Plaza area in Kuta, where there are large shopping centres like Lippo & Discovery Shopping Mall.
