The T-shaped infinity pool offers an expansive wooden deck with sun lounges and umbrellas to soak up the sun. Alternatively, guests can utilise the manicured soft lawns and two poolside bales at each side of the pool right by the sand to offer respite from the sun, where you can curl up with a book as the kids play in the pool.
Living Areas
A huge open-air living room with soaring ceilings is the perfect social hub after a day in the sun; here, you can enjoy the views directly of the infinity pool and beach. A selection of chic, fine timber furnishings, both modern and traditional in design, decorate this space. A solid timber dining table seats 8. A state-of-the-art movie projector can be viewed in the main living area; it will almost be like a night at the drive-ins, and the Bose sound system allows you to create your ambience indoors and out. Located at Pantai Lima, the villa is relatively close to Echo Beach, where you can enjoy long walks along the beach. Echo Beach is renowned for great surfing, with a good selection of cafes along the beach where you can have an afternoon Bintang as you watch the waves. Canggu is now teeming with new health food cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, yoga studios, family-friendly restaurants and nighttime entertainment.
Cafes & restaurants. If you feel like going out for a meal with the family in Canggu’s popular Batu Bolong & Batu Mejan area, try Milk and Madu (family-friendly), The Common, Mason, Shady Shack (for great vegan food) & the famous Deus ex Machina. All are reasonably priced and easy to get to.
Day Spas. For the girls, there are loads of day spas in Canggu where you can get your nails and hair done, plus have a facial or a relaxing Balinese massage. Head to AMO, Goldust Beauty Lounge and Spring Day Spa for the best treatments.
Shopping. Follow this up with an afternoon shopping in Seminyak’s trendy Oberoi area, where there are art galleries, jewellery & homewares stores. You can also walk up to Jalan Legian, where local vendors sell clothes and Bali souvenirs & gifts.
Supermarkets. If you need to stock up on your villa supplies, two supermarkets (Pepito & Frestive) close to the villa have absolutely everything you could want, including alcohol, fresh food & snacks for the kids.
Beach Clubs. Make sure you also visit the new mega beach club Atlas Beach Fest in Berawa, where you can hire your private cabana and enjoy chilled music, delish cocktails, fine food and sensational beach & sunset views. Other beach clubs nearby are La Brisa at Echo Beach, Cafe Del Mar in Batu Belig and KU DE TA in Seminyak.
Travelling with kids? Take them for a surf lesson at Old Man’s Beach, where you can hire boards and instructors by the hour. You can also take them to the Finns Recreation Club in Berawa, where there are huge waterslides, an indoor trampoline centre and ten-pin bowling. For a cultural experience, head to Tanah Lot Temple (about 43.8 km away) to watch the sunset or, perhaps, a day visit Ubud’s famous Monkey Forest Temple (21 km away ); your private chauffeur can take you there. The food at Penny Lane is family-friendly for dinner, and there are burgers at Bang Bang or Pit Stop. For dessert, take them for the best gelato in Canggu at Ettore, Al Bacio or Gaya.

An amazing three nights in paradise
"We had a mini break at Villa Melissa and it was divine. Airport transfers, private yoga classes, dinners in the villa with friends, restaurant recommendations and help with bookings, they looked after everything! The view from Villa Melissa is superb. Waking up to the waves on the beach every morning was amazing. The villa staff were so pleasant and the food amazing. They were also very discreet so we did not notice them but everything just magically was done just as it was needed. The villa comes with use of a car and driver that was incredibly useful when going out to eat or see friends. A five star villa with a five star location and staff."

We stayed in Villa Melissa and Sound of the Sea in December for a family reunion/ silver anniversary celebration. I cannot say enough good things about the entire trip! The staff was so wonderful, helpful and polite. We had delicious meals, and our every need was met.
The villas are both so beautiful, and what a location, stunning views and the perfect place for a holiday. Highly recommend!
